I love this — our dogs and cats have taught this lesson to me as did the 12 Step program I did years back. It’s hard for humans to not jet in our minds far in advance of the moment we are in. For a dog it’s “this is the best meal ever! this is the best walk!” My husbands little brother warms my heart each time I fix waffles for him and he exclaims “you make the best waffles ever!” (he says this every time lol).
